Caesar, Beware the Ides of March 2003:
The Transit of Uranus Through Pisces

© 2002 Charles Kipp

As we enter more deeply the fall of the year, we have cause at this time to foreshadow the spring. If the infamous "ides of March" are understood to fair more or less portentously for any given year, then March of 2003 is marked for severe turbulence by the entry of Uranus into Pisces for the first time since January 1920, in both instances initiating seven-year periods of rambunctious spiritual ideation. The entire enterprise, however, is geared toward the launching of an overt campaign for industrious deployment of a New World Order at the time Uranus crosses the spring equinox, entering Aries in 2010. Uranus has an 84-year orbital period, transiting through one sign in 7 years.

What does this portend for the upcoming period of Uranus' transit through Pisces for the seven years beginning in 2003, connoting strategic maneuvering to protect and germinate the "seed" of a new Uranian program, culminating in 2010, just after Pluto's entry into Capricorn in 2009? (See "2009, The Year the Aliens Land") These two powerfully transformative agents transiting to these most potent Cardinal points of the tropical zodiac, one right after the other, can only indicate a major up-scaling of the globalization of human consciousness throughout the world during the short period of 2009-10. These impulses will be decisive, unprecedented and perhaps devastating in terms of world politics, but the inherent evolutionary potential for responding to them constitutes the impetus for successful mutation.

The meaning of Uranus transiting through Pisces, from 2003 to 2010, pertains to the dynamic positioning of myriad factors, largely psychological, to facilitate the most propitious outcome for the imminent bid for power in 2010. This impetus is subtle but strong and intent upon a program that has now been largely installed as a function of Uranus' now completing transit through Aquarius, from 1996 to 2003. During this period, Uranus, as Lord of Aquarius, has been setting his own house in order; that is, installing a new Aquarian program to be deployed over the full 84-year period of his cycle, climaxing from 2039 through 2046 as Uranus transits through Leo, the full cycle completing in 2080 as Uranus "comes home" to Aquarius again.

In Pisces, Uranus will venture forth into the next stage of the New Program by "softening up" the appropriate psychological and social breakpoints for an imminent preemptive maneuver in 2010. Such anticipatory positioning can generate surprisingly effective strategic diversions of resources and fortifications toward swift implementation of objectives at a predetermined moment (Uranus' transit to the spring equinox). The essential point for understanding the astrological principle involved is that all progressive movement is geared toward Greater Life. Disruptive and even destructive activities are always yet necessary and functional processes of life itself.

We can expect to witness increased turbulent skirmishes throughout the world during Uranus' transit through Pisces, given the state of affairs that we observe now, going into it. Their fundamental nature or character, however, will likely be that of upping the ante across the board toward obtaining "the psychological advantage" within the now global zeitgeist. This transit provides a most insightful index for gauging mounting psychological tensions as various factions vie for the energy of the building transformative charge. The advantage will be determined by superior intelligence, pure and simple; that is, the most enhanced and expanded capacity for intuitive insight, penetrating deeply into humanity's underlying collective urge for the emergence of a New World.

Uranus is the planet of the efficacy of free agency. He is the consummate egalitarian and seeks to further egalitarian objectives. In his transit through Pisces, he will favor the will to freedom by stirring up latent yearnings for actualization toward many and varied ends. Tyrannical impulses will be frustrated in their attempts to preempt rising tides of passions, because ultimately such passions prove unmanageable. People will instinctively respond to the transit of Uranus through Pisces to move advantages toward their perceived interests, but there will be no perceptible coordination of those movements.

The transit of Pluto to the winter solstice in 2009 will provide an initial shock or download, as it were, to the world governmental and corporate infrastructure, just as Uranus completes his transit through Pisces, tapping into Aries in 2010 and entering full-fledged in 2011, contacting the spring equinox twice in 2010. An incredibly powerful thrust of preemptive force will be deployed at that time, but it is likely to take an unexpected form, opening up previously unforeseen patterns of cohesion capable of working in a coordinated and fortuitous manner; fortuitous due to the strategic spiritual maneuverings preceding it, beginning with Uranus' entry into Pisces in March 2003.

This will be a time to tune in to the deepest resonances and rumblings of life. Watch for emergent patterns of imminent unrest, yet tenuous and untried but eager. "Sorcerer's Apprentice" scenarios are likely to unfold here and there. Bids for charismatic leadership will become more prominent, perhaps spawning copycat movements similar in respects to the Elvi phenomenon. Essentially, there will be a form of strategic, anticipatory psychological warfare going on that will largely determine the form of the New World Order that will forcefully emerge in 2010 from the ashes of the old that already lie about.

Again, since 1996, Uranus has been transiting through his own sign, Aquarius, installing a program for the optimal deployment of efficacious institutions to facilitate the establishment of a heterogeneous global society. As he moves out of Aquarius into Pisces, he carries his formulated impetus into the void of spirit, as it were, to be maneuvered thereby toward the Creation Point of the spring equinox in 2010. These maneuvers are not perceptible in strictly official terms of orthodox institutions of government, religion or business, however. They rather begin as a moving undercurrent of unrest that coalesces gradually in an inherently spontaneous manner, as if directed from some mysterious source, to animate the uniqueness of the spirit of every individual toward the coalescence of the collective will to freedom.

If we want to gain some purchase on what Uranus in Pisces means, we can review periods of history when Uranus transited through Pisces before, the most recent of these being the seven-year period from 1920 to 1927. In accordance with the above observations about the meaning of this transit, we may think of that period as a critical but subtle psychological conditioning operation toward fostering a mindset to facilitate the decisive power maneuver for a New World Order in 1927, when Uranus reached the spring equinox, moving out of Pisces and into Aries.

This all can be shown very clearly to have been the case in the development of world politics, which I show in some detail in another work. (Contact my e-mail address below for more details.) For the purpose of this brief column, however, we may gain an amazingly cogent angle on the Uranus in Pisces phenomenon, from the perspective of American culture, by reflecting upon the bountiful cache of lore, historical, cinematographic and literary, etc., concerning the period of "The Roaring Twenties," which has retained its unique mystique in the lore of Americana by virtue of its turbulent, romantic and disorienting quality that may largely be attributed to Uranus' transit through Pisces from 1920 to 1927.

Prohibition, the "Tommy gun," women's right to vote, the first broadcasting station, the Rorschach "ink blot" test, the arrests of Sacco and Vanzetti, a bomb explosion on Wall Street killing 35 and wounding 130, Harding elected President to die in office three years later, scandalized, all in 1920. One might say that American culture became embroiled in a kind of self-absorbed domestic conflict while very significant institutional developments were being set in motion throughout the rest of the world.

The founding of the Royal Institute for International Affairs in London, the selection of The Hague as the seat of the International Court of Justice, Palestine's British mandate, the emergence of Ghandi as India's leader in its struggle for independence, Adolph Hitler's announcement of his 25-point program at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich and Wolfgang Kapp's staging of a short-lived monarchist coup d'etat in Berlin all also occurred in 1920.

In 1927, as Uranus crossed the spring equinox (2010 in the present cycle), the actual preemptive thrust of the Uranian cycle produced the performance of Igor Stravinsky's "Oedipus Rex" in Paris, the Economic Conference in Geneva, "Black Friday" in Germany, the publication "The Program of the N.S.D.A.P." (Hitler's Nazi Party), and Trotsky's expulsion from the Communist Party. In 1928, Chiang Kai-shek was elected President of China and Mussolini published his autobiography. The United States would be brought into the fray in due course, but the die was cast, the new global program took hold.

The transit of Uranus through Leo (opposite Aquarius), from 1955 to 1962, demonstrated the climax of the power of the established World Order initiated from 1913 to 1920 (Uranus' transit through Aquarius) and preemptively deployed in 1927, as Uranus crossed the spring equinox, entering Aries. This brings some very interesting perspectives to bear upon the development of world strategy at this level of strategic management.

Surely these brief perspectives on the historical developments associated with Uranus' transits through Aquarius, Pisces and into Aries in his previous cycle bring much perspective to what we may expect and bring to his upcoming transit through Pisces, starting in March 2003.
